Request a Quote
To receive an accurate, no-obligation quotation for your china repair or restoration, please email us the details. We need the following essential information to assess the damage and provide pricing:
1. Clear Photos: Submit several high-resolution photographs clearly showing the damaged areas, including close-ups of cracks or missing pieces.
2. Item Dimensions: State the original height (or width/depth) of the item. This helps us estimate the size of the repair area and material usage.
Important Christmas Info
Due to the currently high volume of specialist work, please note that any items delivered to our restorers after November 30th are highly unlikely to be completed and ready for collection or delivery before Christmas.
Our Restoration Options
We offer two distinct service levels to suit the value, significance, and budget of your ceramic piece:
1. Budget Repair Service (From £75)
Perfect for sentimental items and lower-value pieces where cost-effectiveness and structural stability are the primary goals.
Process: This service focuses on reassembling the piece, cleanly filling any missing sections, and overpainting the damaged area.
Finish: This technique does not include airbrushing and is generally not an invisible repair. A visible seam or color difference may be present.
Pricing: Repairs are priced from £75.

2. Premium Museum-Quality Restoration (From £200)
Recommended for valuable antiques, collector's items, and fine pottery that require the highest level of craftsmanship and aesthetic finish.
Process: This service employs advanced techniques to achieve an invisible repair, including professional color matching and seamless glaze replication, often involving oven-curing (as previously detailed).
Pricing: Repairs are priced from £200.

Important Notes on Restoring Domestic Items
We can restore everyday domestic items (such as mugs and plates) to display quality only. Please note that these items cannot be used for food or drink after restoration.
Why can't restored items be used?
- Material Constraints: Professional conservation materials are designed to break down under duress (such as hot water, hand washing, and dishwashers). Using a restored item would eventually cause the repair to fail.
- Health & Safety: Due to the risk of failure—especially with hot liquids—restored items pose a safety hazard if used.
Consider Replacement vs. Repair
Because professional restoration requires a significant investment, it is often more cost-effective to replace standard everyday items. Many mugs, for example, can be replaced for around £10—far less than the cost of a repair. However, if the item holds deep sentimental value, we are happy to restore it for display purposes.
Our Restoration Options
- Budget Restoration: Restored to display quality using hand-painting and cold glazing. Please note that the finish will not be completely seamless.
- Premium Restoration: Performed by our master restorer for an invisible or near-invisible finish.
Important Reminder: Regardless of which service you choose, all restored items remain strictly for display only and are no longer functional.
